With Mother’s Day rapidly approaching, we bring you three great ideas from our new Spring 2015 guides, which are completely new, cover March, April and May and are packed with the best places in 11 major cities worldwide. And each guide is a fiercely competitive £0.79p to download. So whether she is mamá, mom or mère, get a bottle of Mumm in the fridge (always hilarious) and prime the florist. This is not a drill.

LONDON – Chelsea Flower Show (pictured)

So English, so prim-sounding, yet always abuzz with creativity, exotica and cutting-edge design, this annual flower-fest organised by the Royal Horticultural Society dates back to 1862. Among this year’s star exhibits will be a Beauty of Islam garden designed by Kamelia Bin Zaal, the scented L’Occitane garden, a collaboration between Laurent-Perrier and Chatsworth in Derbyshire, and a fund-raising garden from Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale. From 19–23 May 2015. www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/rhs-chelsea-flower-show.

PARIS – Jean-Paul Hévin

In a funky cave-like setting – an architectural pun on moulded ceilings known as ‘patisserie’ – next to the Marché des Enfants Rouge, Jean-Paul Hévin’s latest outlet, the Chocolat Bar(re),is for connoisseurs. Dedicated to ‘grand cru’ chocolates, each one is declined as a bar, sweet, cake, hot chocolate and macaroon, eaten at the counter if you want. No doubt at Easter you can expect a few chocolate eggs, too. Favourite item: a bar of Java or Alto del Sol grand cru 75% for around £3. www.jeanpaulhevin.com.

BARCELONA – Aire de Barcelona

After months of hiding beneath the layers and skin that’s barely seen the light of day, a scrub and a steam is just the thing for gearing up for summer. These candlelit baths – the in-water massage is heavenly – with authentic hammam and organic treatments are just the ticket for holing up on a gloomy day and cost less than hotel spas. Favourite treatment: the ‘my perfect skin ritual by Ami Iyök’ (£77), for baby-soft skin. www.airedebarcelona.com.
